In order to remove the DPF, you will need to be on a flat surface and use a jack or other lifting tool. However, you will need to look at the instructions to be sure of how to position it in the correct location, as the instructions may be quite different from the photo displayed. If you are unsuccessful, you will need a different method.
Either remove the controlarm with the supplied tool, or with a pair of heavy duty wire cutters cut the controlarm where it joins the steering column. The first cut is above the steering column bolt. The second cut is short of the steering column where it connects to the cross member.
Part the two half’s of the control arm, the bolt hole will be on one half and the nut on the other. Remove the nut and remove the bolt. Use a socket or larger socket. The other side of the controlarm will only require a socket and some penetrating oil.
After the controlarm is removed, you will miss the new 3-bolt upped steering assembly. Use a socket or larger socket on each of the four bolts. Remove the two side bolts, remove the front bolt, and remove the steering knuckle. Both uppers and lower tracks can be removed, allowing the steering box and lower control arm to be removed and placed on a flat surface. Use a socket to remove the pin (based on your particular vehicle) (see picture).
