Win7PhotoStudio.zip — This is a clean install of Win7 on a new laptop; no personal or office data – this will be tested and commented on, but won’t use it to write a review.vkdk.sys — Comes with Win7 of course, but not activated. Whatever magic the Windows team is employing, this file does not seem to disrupt anything. Be forewarned, you’ll need to de-activate if you plan to install it on your main Windows OS – BUT, if you have an additional / 3rd OS on your machine, with a separate partition, this thing will work.
vkmsafem.zip — The most I can say is that after you install this file, your Win7 desktop/launcher looks infinitely more current and less character-less than before you installed vkdk.sys. Additionally, Win7 seems to properly report the age of hardware and software in more detail. If you want all the benefits of the activation-free Win7, but did not want to pay for a Win7 VLK it is well worth trying.
vkdk.sys — This seems like a minor fix-up file for Win7. It seems to stop/prevent the Win7 Will-Activate-Myself-Every-Time virus from directing your browser to either Microsoft’s or the EULA’s pages. Actually, I don’t know where it directs one to because it stopped working when I installed vkdk.sys, and I have no SoftEdge installed.
vkmsafem.zip — This fixes the Win7 launcher menu, and gives it a few more bars, and a few more fonts. It has a neat “Run” Bar. Also, the menu-system is more intuitive, and there is a more readable display of Win7 applications. You can add more documents to the main menu, making it more palatable to the eye, and easier to navigate. If you don’t like that, you can choose a different or no menu.
vkdmkext.zip — A Win7’s own version of the vkdk.sys fix – this addresses a long-standing bug in MacOS. By default, windows 7 will keep sending to outdated files to old apps. So you can see if you’re missing drivers, software, etc that will not work.
Windows XP is a popular version released in 2001 and now with discontinued support from the manufacturer. There are many newer versions such as Windows 10 Pro, Windows 7 Ultimate. XP was very popular because was very stable and intuitive to be used. When Windows 8 was released, many people installed XP back because they were so used with XP interface.
