Installing Adobe Photoshop can be done in a number of ways. First, you can download it online from the Adobe website. This is the recommended option, and it is the easiest way to get the software. If you know how to download, it is easy enough. This is because the software is simply downloaded and installed. You can also download it from one of Adobe’s partners, such as software reseller CDW. You can also get the software from a retail store, such as Best Buy. All of these options are cheaper than buying the CD or DVD.
In this example, we’ve taken an image from the Elements team and we’re showing the file path. You’ll see some tools for desaturation and some other tools, and we’re changing the alpha property to 0.1. We’re then going back to the original file and making some comments, which you see the name of the image next to the comments. When you save the file, we’re able to see in a preview window that we’re going to replace that file with ours, and that’s changing the alpha values to 0.2.
We’re very excited about not only doing this for the previews, but also the filters. We’re able to have the actions are integrated with the filters so we’re able to layer them on top of each other and you can do these things. There’s a new layered gradient, for instance, which we’re using here in Premedia 2.
If you click on each of the different layers, you can see that they’re all linked up, and selecting a layer changes the other layers. So you can think about this. In our example, we’re rotating the faces on this image, and we’re doing that from the shadow layer on up to the crease and the highlights and the core areas, and then changing the mood. We’re able to change the mood by clicking on the year in the corner. We’re going to switch back and forth between the different moods. And you can see that the transition is able to happen.
With the new UI, you’ll be able to quickly jump back and forth between layers, which we like to refer to as “drinking from the firehose.” This example shows a layer and you can see it right there, and you’ll see this next is the next layer. It’s a monitor. You can see that in the preview window. You can go back and forth, and then you’ll see when you get back to that layer, you’ll see that you’re creating a pattern; you’re able to create some gradients here. It’s very powerful because you can create new patterns, and you can combine those patterns, and everything is very intuitive.

Now I’m the Photoshop element of the team – and I teach Photoshop Elements in the Envato Tuts+ class. My goal for this course is to get you to the point where you understand why the things you see in a tutorial seem important, and that when you learn them, you won’t just copy and paste them – you will understand why you can do what you can do.
Also inside Photoshop is a completely new radial filter tool. It’s labeled Radial Gradient Creator, and available in Photoshop CC 2019 workflow only. You may have to continue updates for older versions of Photoshop to experience the new feature.
Another increasingly popular technology rolling out in newer releases of Photoshop CC is the ability to create multiple masks from the same pixel location. The user can now lock up your mask, move it without having to delete it, and observe how the mask reacts to different fill/exposure approaches to exploring the data. This is a big leap from the old method when you’d need to delete an entire mask even if you needed just one channel to tweak.
Have concerns over the future of other tools inside the bigger Photoshop? Not to worry as new time-saving features are revealed regularly. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend the new Workflow Lifecycle Management. It helps keep your projects and assets organized, and helps you shoot more efficiently. This feature is already included in CC, but if you’re using CS6 or earlier versions of Photoshop you can selectively install on newer versions. It’s easy and free.
A new object extraction feature lets you access selected layers and groups of layers as a single image file. You can use this feature to clean up a background or select objects and save them back as a single image. It is mainly used to create images that have layers representing different aspects of an image such as faces, objects, the background, etc.
Version 10 of Photoshop includes a brand new artboard workspace to create and arrange content and a new Split Image workspace to group multiple images on one layer and even add text to them.
