The new Object Selection works wonderfully. The new technology is based on Adobe technology that began back in 2006 and has made its way into Lightroom. Reassembling objects is tedious in Lightroom, where you have to click to find a layer and then click on it to reassemble. In Photoshop, it’s easy—just click to select anything you want and use the Object Selection tool to put the objects back together again.
The new One Click Fill tool eliminates a task that used to require you to do fill/unfill for each and every area you wanted to modify. When you click on the tool, Photoshop selects everything with a color like your foreground, and for each area, it fills in the entire area with a solid color. All you have to do is click once to deselect.
I still can’t get over the pain of the missing Hand tool on the Mac version of Photoshop. How anyone lets this happen was beyond me, but it’s now fixed, and a one-click selection tool is still missing. Hopefully soon!
Last but not least, Adobe’s new content-aware scaling really works. I’ve noticed the feature in other editors and while it’s usually pretty good, it’s never been 100 percent. In Photoshop, however, it works perfectly.
