Considering that many of you are probably wondering about the new version of Photoshop, I thought I would break down just what the new features are. I’m sure you’ve been hearing a lot about the new features in Adobe Photoshop Elements 15, so I’m just going to cover the new Photoshop features that really makes it worth your time to check them out. May we consider Adobe Lightroom to be a step up from Elements? After all, Photoshop Elements is an entry level software and most of its users still use it for basic needs. So clearly, Adobe customers have been looking for something between the two products—and that is exactly what Lightroom 6 offers. Even though Lightroom is a true “camera-friendly” software, Lightroom 6 will help experienced users. But even for new users, Lightroom could pose as a good companion to Photoshop elements in the long run.
Can I use it on my other devices?
Yes! If you own an iPad Pro, Procreate, or Photoshop, you can use Photoshop Camera as long as you have an Adobe Creative Cloud account. If you own a Mac or a desktop PC that is relatively new with macOS or Windows 10, you’re good to go as well.
Is it easy to use?
Because yes, Photoshop Camera is easy to use. You can even make your way around right there in in-app tutorials that will show you how to use Photoshop Camera. In addition to that, the effects that are built into the app are all very easy to use and sort of have built-in tutorial features themselves. For example, when you apply the Soft Focus effect, you can get tips on how to use it right within the app, too. So that’s about as easy as it gets.
Is it compatible with other apps?
If you create right within the app, that means that it can be brought into other apps. For example, you can create directly into Pinterest, Foursquare, and Instagram, share images to Twitter, and even save those images to Pinterest. When you add text into Photoshop Camera, you can import those images that you created into any other app which will allow you to do more than just text layouts.
How is it priced?
You won’t be working on a $20 hourly rate. If you want to really get your creativity going with Photoshop, be sure to sign up for the Adobe Creative Cloud and get the full version of Photoshop. That will cost you about $20 per month, but it is well worth it.
