I have followed the product closely, loaded it up on a dozen different machines, and by eight or so hours in I wanted to switch to PDs Dreamweaver. Unfortunately that’s not the case with CS5, which adds all manner of new frills, and a touch base of new features. I am sure other people have made the opposite point and it will only take one or two dissenting voices – and we don’t have any Paypal donators – to re lube the karma a bit.
I am learning more and more about CS5 from the 50-odd hours I have put in, and I am still not good enough to evaluate it critically. I know that I should work on something else now, because it’s still good enough to be a Social Network, but I don’t know for sure.
I am still quite sure that they have packed it full of bugs. I am closer to feeling like it was a good step in the right direction. Hopefully I can do the second part of this upgrade later this week. We’ll see.
So, to sum up, I think this is still the best bet for anyone looking for something a bit different, with more than a few new features, and no visual glitch that’s going to stop me being productive.
I have my doubts about this release, so buy a license of CS4 and get on to the new version. It is your choice, but I’d recommend a license of CS4 to any of you who are going to do anything serious with your photos.
