Nevertheless, I have not experienced any crashes or major issues. I use Lightroom 5 for both developing and editing photos and videos, and I’m satisfied with its speed and ease of use.
Lightroom 5 does have a slightly different learning curve than the version 4. You don’t have to learn all the new shortcuts, but you do have to learn the new features of Lightroom 5. For starters, there’s a new timeline, one liner effects, and additional editing functions.
Lightroom 5 is no faster than Lightroom 4. It’s just slightly slower. Compared to Lightroom 4, I see less detail and a more noticeable delay with Lightroom 5 while importing pictures. I say this because speed was a big concern for me as a Pentax K-1 user since the latter hogs a lot of RAM. I can usually open the EVF to check images without many issues. I expect that this will be the case with the latest version, but I do wish Lightroom 5 was slightly faster.
