The reviews are out for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC and rightly so, I must say I’m somewhat a purist when it comes to photo editing, with my workflow being a collection of Adobe Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC.
I’ve been advocating for Adobe to launch a standalone version of Photoshop, but since that hasn’t happened of course, the alternative in my opinion is the implementation of Photoshop CC as part of Lightroom CC. I really love Lightroom for its feature set and workflow, and if I have the chance I’ll try to stick with the library-only workflow. I’m thoroughly impressed with the way Adobe has improved the Photoshop plug-ins, by bringing it more into line with Adobe Lightroom CC. That is one of the nice things about using Lightroom. I can use Photoshop plug-ins from within Lightroom, I can use exported PSD files from Lightroom CC and so on – in other words, it all integrates pretty much seamless. I also find the interface is less cluttered and more intuitive.

I appreciate all the time and effort that you put into the reviews, Srasch, but to suggest Lightroom will be around and remain relevant if the developers suddenly decide to stop supporting it is grandiose and I frankly don’t agree with it. Lightroom is fantastic, it does what it does so well and with superior tools and features in comparison to Photoshop. I feel that Lightroom is limited compared to Photoshop, from a feature and toolset perspective. Again, that’s because of the differences in philosophy and approach. If it can be improved, so it should! I am merely highlighting things that baffle me and I hope that Google and other reviewers pick up on this as well. Cheers!
