Fujifilm X-Trans RAW can be quite good, recording blends really well with Adobe’s technique, so that repairing levels is a pretty easy task. Shooting both boys, we found that one looked slightly less shadowed than the other, and there was a large difference in the amount of shadow on the faces.
You can adjust the settings to show highlights, midtones, shadows, gray tones and black and white, just like you can with other RAW file types. We really like the channel mixer, which allows you to fix the small loss of color in skin tones when you shift from backlit to frontlit lighting.
If you’re into LUTs and color for a specific type of look, you can create a LUTchan as well.
The black level adjustments, highlights and shadows are pretty easy to correct, so if you’re not totally sure about your changes, it’s definitely worth trying the adjustments a few times before you click save.
In terms of the development camera, the X-T2 gives you a shutter speed up to 1/4000 second, so if you’re into street photography and want to take pictures of subjects against a fast-moving background, you’ll find this is the best camera for you.
