Adobe released a new update for their software that will fix software issues for owners of the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, and iPhone 3GS. The update is available now for users who have the latest version of Adobe’s Creative Suite software installed on their computer — or if you’re using an older version, you can download the update as well.
The update contains the same fixes that were initially released on March 8th, 2012, targeting software issues in Photoshop CS5, Photoshop Elements 11, and Photoshop CC. Adobe describes the software issues as “unexpected crashes, freezes and/or hangs of the application.”

Let’s start this review with a very important tip. A typical workflow varies greatly from day to day, but the one thing that is constant is that we should share our work with people. At the very least, this saves the time of creating and editing once more. The software has a feature where you can display model sheets of cover art, a simple postage-stamp-sized version of a photo and different options for different sizes. You can then use a couple of options, such as send to a printer, save a version and then set it as a background on an email. If you prefer, you can pre-load the entire set of photos that you want to send. You then can choose between sending the whole set or to attach them to a single email. It is good that there are so many options for sharing your work.
Adobe’s tools have also improved greatly in the six months that have elapsed since my last Photoshop review. Adobe has acquired the stock-creating tool Creative Cloud back in February and now the program incorporates not just the stock library from Shutterstock and other commercial stock photo libraries, but also Creative Cloud Libraries, which also happens to be a fairly complete set of free stock photography for designers and developers. Overall, this is very convenient. Sort of like an improved version of simple photo/image hosting sites that you can access online. In fact, with the integration of Creative Cloud Libraries, this is a very good place to access projects that you can share with people as you go along. One thing that is smart about this is that those shared project folders are automatically protected the moment they are created. The same goes for web links you copy. Generally, in this protective mode, you can copy files, folders, projects or web links and if worse comes to worst, your computer isn’t hacked, your share is not exposed or anything else happens, the links are still secure.
The Crop tool offers a myriad of options when it comes to cropping a photo to fit available space in the document. It may require a few attempts until you are happy with the resulting image. You can crop by using the mouse to position the crop box. Alternatively, you can crop by clicking a point that you want to crop at, then clicking the Crop box. The Crop tool makes it easy to create creative shapes, and is good for boxy effects, such as crops that cut off part of an object. It will make it easy to crop, or move a vector shape, to a new position. The Crop tool also has “autocrop” functionality which will attempt to resize the image based on the image itself.
What It Does: The Straighten tool aligns an image from a tilted perspective to the correct orientation. It can also be used for rotating an image 90 degrees laterally (left and right) or vertically (up and down). The Crop tool offers an easy and efficient way to incorporate a new crop into an image without having to re-size the image, paste and then crop again.
What It Does: The Duplicate Image Select tool duplicates a layer by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on a layer. The Duplicate layer button opens up the Loupe pane, which gives you an excellent view of the selected layer. The Duplicate layer button is located at the top-left of the Layers palette.
What It Does: The Levels tool adjusts the brightness and contrast of your image. It does not alter any colors, but just rips up the middle, making the bright areas more brightly bright and the shadowy areas slightly more inky. Why not? Making it do otherwise would make the entire image look like a yawn, at which point it wouldn’t be very helpful. Basically, it just levels the image.
