These two events led to the formation of theGovt. of TN and KSPSK in TamilNet 99 Conference,”To consolidate the efforts and make Tamil fonts conformto the same requirements” was one of the resolutions in the frameof Tamilnet 99 Convention. It was accompanied by atalented utilization of computer and Tamil as anofficial language. Even the Government of Tamil Nadu hadadvertised the News by issuing the Office Order No 190/1999 dated 24-11-1999. On date of issuingthis Office order no. 190/1999 dated 24-11-1999, the Intrparms&I. Consultant and The Director, Directorate of Indian Languages &Culture, Govt. of Tamilnadu, Dept. of Information Technology, whomsoever our respective offices may be, hereby make the followingorder:-
” The Tamil fonts developed by Kanitamizh Sangam, Tamilnet 99Conference and KSPSK and certified for microsoftfonts are hereby declared conformant to the requirementsof the Govt. of Tamilnadu. The Govt. of Tamilnadu hasconfirmably adopted the Tamil font of the Govt. ofTamilnadu as its official font. The Govt. of Tamilnadu hasapproved this font.
The Govt. of Tamilnadu has hereby made it doabledirection to the Dept. of Information Technology totake up the necessary action to make these certified Tamilfonts qualify to be used as defstencioff for Govt. of Tamilnadu websites.
