Honda FireBlade Trivia The Honda Fireblade brought together the world’s best in building a motorcycle. Tadao Katayama’s know-how and perfectionism from the Honda CBR1000RR of the time allows the Fireblade to hold a solid spot of top note in building the H-CBRV-3: a motorcycle that appears to break new ground, but was one of the most accurate in the options. First generation 1992-1994 The 1992 CBR900RR is the first official production model. It is the first CBR900 to be offered for sale. The bike features a four-stroke 900cc DOHC inline-four, twin carburetors (the very first models), inline fenders, and shaft drives. The first two models are finished in blue with silver and black rocker panels. In the third model year (1993) of the “xD” Series, the front turn signals are moved to the headlight assembly. In the fourth model year (1994) CBR90s with the carburetors have smaller air filters that surround the mufflers. At first the CBR900 was more balanced than the CBR750, and because of the four-speed transmission, gearing is fairly low. The bike was quite agile, cornering on the limit without skidding – in fact, some have stated the Fireblade corners better than the GSXR750. The CBR900RR also resembles the CBR1000RR in a number of ways. The 1992 model was fitted with Keihin-Tsusho four-valve DOHC 48mm carburettors. 1993 The CBR900 was redesigned again for the 1993 model year, with a new headlight, front forks and other small alterations. Also, the carburetors were changed to Keihin-Tsusho Keihins, and an electric fuel pump was made standard. 1994 The CBR900 was completely redesigned for the 1994 model year. An all-new, flush-mounted headlight assembly was fitted, along with a GT front fork. The seat was changed from a low-rise to a traditional upright shape, and the range of colours available was increased. The stainless steel wheels, and half-shell wheels were replaced with alloy models. When the CBR900RR was introduced, it was the only motorcycle with four-valve Carburetors and 35mm ( c6a93da74d
