Ships start with a power and energy level of ten (10) and are able to attack other vessels. It makes sense to have a certain amount of energy and power in each ship. A Battle cruiser may need 100% power while a frigate may need just ten (10). You will be refueled by the Refuse Charge each turn and will have enough power for 25 weapon attacks. Most of the game is about upgrades of the individual hulls. Combining the ships in fleets makes an interesting challenge, since you need to learn to combine a ship and her upgrades into a new and legendary ship. You can do this with your skill and experience with the various races.
It is possible to use the Admiral and Captain skills to upgrade your ship. The advantage of the Admiral skill is that you can use the Income and Refuse Charge from battles to upgrade your Admiral.
Armada II has a great ship editor where you can make modifications on existing or new ships. Every ship has a main screen where you can see the stats and information, such as the FLEET skill which gives a lot of bonuses (research, learning, fleet efficiency, shield strength, durability & shield energy…). There are a lot of options in this screen to further customize a ship!, such as adding weapons, shields, thrusters and special effects, when upgrading and constructing new ships.It is possible to go into the Damage Control Parameters screen when clicked, so you can see how the ship would heal in a battle. Also you can modify the energy of the battle in here, go much deeper and see what happensIf you click on the Hull, you can use the main screen as the renamed Hull Screen.
