I also don’t know if DD-WRT supports all version of the 2.4Ghz Bands. If you try to connect to a 6 CHANNEL L-Band network, or if you have a 5 Ghz AP, you may have problems. Hopefully someone will chime in with their experiences as they come in. Now on to the fun part. Plug in the dd-wrt powered AP to your LAN port, and plug the cable into the wireless port of the router. Power on the router, and don’t hit any buttons yet. The router should go back into config mode automatically. First off, you can see the lan and wireless configuration on the top bar. Should be pretty self-explanatory. Check out the’software’ bar on the top. This is where you can turn various network features on and off. WANd WAN (routers built in VPN) is the feature we are looking for here:

Both of the radios on my router are 802.11b, as they are both on the same network. The 802.11g wifi antenna card is the main one, and I only have 8 channels available with it. There should be only one of these. The USB dongle doesn’t support both b/g/n modes, so you can only get speeds down to 54mbps. This is why you see my actual throughput listed as 54 on this router. Another thing to note here is the’speedup’ setting.
