the 22nd international symposium on molecular and cellular biology of arthropods is scheduled for august 10-13, 2019, at the beau soleil resort in puerto morelos, mexico. the symposium will be hosted by the bioarthropods society and will feature a wide diversity of plenary and contributed oral presentations, as well as poster presentations. the symposium will cover research in the areas of molecular and cellular biology of arthropods, including insect vectors and arthropod-borne pathogens. the symposium will provide an opportunity for emerging researchers to present their findings, and provide a forum for experts to present the latest findings in their field. the theme of the symposium, insect vector and arthropod-borne diseases, is centered on the diverse types of organisms that serve as vectors for the transmission of human and animal pathogens, with emphasis on zoonotic and highly pathogenic viruses. this year, the symposium will have a distinguished faculty of 20 speakers. the program will be lead by robert h. ebel, ph.d., of the university of california, san francisco, usa, and the vice president of the bioarthropods society. michael j. deborde, m., of st. jude children’s research hospital, usa, and the president of the bioarthropods society, will co-chair the symposium. the meeting will have strong presentation and discussion format with priority given to new and emerging areas of research.
