.. I can’t seem to locate any documentation to guide me in.
I then looked at the file structure and found that AutoCAD gives the two “.dproj” files a “Drafting-Portable-2013” subfolder.
So I tried manually hard coding a path to the folder, like so:
ActiveDocument.SaveAs2[FileName:=CreatePath(NewPath) & “NewPathFileName.dwg”]
AutoCAD “drafts” the document after running this command.
If I try to open the NewPathFileName.dwg, I get this exception:
Could not find part of the path “NewPathFileName.dwg”.
If I run the same command, but with the “NewPathFileName.dwg” in the temporary folder instead of the “Drafting-Portable-2013” sub-folder, it works just fine.
Is there a way to make the “NewPathFileName.dwg” file, be both created and opened in the subfolder?
Or, is the issue a bug with AutoCAD and Windows 10?

I found this while using the ‘Autosave’ function of the ‘VBA window’ panel.
Automatically saved drawing(s) into Drafting-Portable-2013 folder does not work.
Instead, you can manually SaveAs:
ActiveDocument.SaveAs2[FileName:=NewPath & “NewPathFileName.dwg”]
(This works for me on AutoCAD 2013-2015)
I should mention that I am using Windows 10 and AutoCAD LT 2012 R2.
If the folder is not accessible from the VBA window panel, you can change the path in ‘Tools->Options->Editor Options->VBA editor->User form settings->General->’Open directory path’ to the path you wish to use.
I got this change to work by opening the ‘Open Directory Path’ dialog box, clicking the ‘Browse’ button in the dialog box, and manually entering the folder path.
